USING THE TANGO AS A METAPHOR TO BRING PEOPLE CLOSER DURING THIS TIME OF NEW TRADITIONS AND INTERACTIONS OF THE DIGITAL ERA, THIS PROJECT EXPLORES THE VISUALIZATION AND RECORDING OF A DANCE AND A PHYSICAL AND EPHEMERAL EMBRACE THAT KNOWS NO GENDER.
In a conceptual method, the garments will hopefully make the wearer feel the joining of two people and the merge of two identities that for a moment they became one while the viewer will be able to observe this encounter as if looking at a photograph of a moment that passed but has been recorded.
ALL PIECES WERE CREATED WITH SECOND HAND GARMENTS, IN ORDER TO START A CONVERSATION ABOUT TEXTILE WASTE AND CHALLENGE THE EXISTING SYSTEM OF MASSIVE FASHION PRODUCTION.
While also challenging social norms and questioning gender roles stablished in the garments traditionally used for dancing, this project will create new shapes that will preserve a special moment between any two people and recreate it in a garment to be worn and relived again.
